What does it actually look like to practice self love?

Self-love is an important aspect of mental and emotional well-being. But what Does it actually look like to practice self love in your day to day life?

With February being the month of love many are focused on experiencing love through relationships with others or the love they expect to be displayed from their partners. But what could your life look like if you practiced loving yourself first?

How does it feel when I say "You are the love of your life". I would imagine that the majority of people reading this would disagree. Many people act as if they are their own worst enemy. therefor projecting their brokenness, their trauma and their limited beliefs on those around them. Yet expecting to fully receive love unconditionally.

Two broken people will never make one whole relationship. The truth is until you learn to love yourself and fully accept yourself for all that you are, you will never be able to give or receive love fully with another human being.

Today I would like to share with you 5 practical ways that you can apply in your life to experience more self love.

Here are five ways to experience real self-love:

Practice self-care: Take care of your physical and mental health by eating well, exercising regularly, getting enough sleep, and engaging in activities that bring you joy and relaxation.

Fully Accept yourself: Embrace your flaws and imperfections, and acknowledge your strengths and accomplishments. Recognize that you are worthy of love and respect, just as you are.

Be kind to yourself: Speak to yourself in a loving and supportive manner, and avoid self-criticism and negativity. Treat yourself with the same compassion and understanding that you would offer to a friend.

Set boundaries: Learn to say "no" to situations and people that do not serve your best interests, and prioritize your own needs and desires.

Cultivate sincere gratitude: Focus on the positive aspects of your life, and express gratitude for the people, experiences, and possessions that bring you joy. By cultivating a positive and appreciative mindset, you can cultivate feelings of self-love and contentment.

Remember, self-love is a lifelong journey, and it takes time and effort to develop. Be patient and kind to yourself as you work to build a strong foundation of self-love. give yourself grace. When you have spent a lifetime in self judgement and self criticism it's going to take time to learn to love yourself fully.

Not only do you deserve the love that you expect from others, I believe you are fully capable of cultivating a beautiful relationship with yourself centered in loving yourself first.
